Description
In Our Hearts at Christmas Time is an evocative Christmas composition by Antonio Sori for mixed choir and instrumental ensemble. Sung in English, the piece combines a warm, memorable melody with richly colored choral writing and transparent accompaniment for piano, strings, and light percussion.
Beginning with images of winter, the music unfolds into a message of hope, love, peace, and the special warmth of the Christmas season. Across the verses and choruses, the four choral voice groups emerge in changing combinations—from more restrained passages and passages in unison to the full eight-part choral texture. The strings provide a soft, atmospheric backdrop, while piano, triangle, and tambourine add rhythmic definition and a contemporary Christmas character.
In Our Hearts at Christmas Time is well suited to Christmas concerts, Advent celebrations, and holiday choral programs, bringing together contemporary Christmas pop and the sound of a classical choir.
